How To Get Around At The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games

The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with an area of over 8,494 square miles, will be the most widespread Games in history. To reach the competitions, it will be necessary to travel between cities and mountain areas. Understanding the connections across the territory may not be simple, so here is an overview of how to get around between the venues.

During the period of the Games many hotels will provide a privately managed shuttle service or assistance with local transportation. Public transportation services will also be made available with extended hours and increased frequency of trains, subways and local public transport. Additionally, the following options will be available in each mountainous region:

  • Park & Ride, park-and-ride parking areas where it will be possible to leave your car + shuttle services. It will not be possible to park directly at the venues.
  • Train & Ride, designated railway stations to reach the venues + shuttle services.

From the Park and Ride and Train and Ride areas, dedicated shuttles will be available to transport spectators directly to the venues, in line with the start and end times of the competitions.

The organization has also created the Transport Milano Cortina 2026 app (download AndroidiOS) to help visitors check and plan routes and schedules, integrating trains, shuttles and local transport (ATM, Trenitalia, Trenord, Taxi). From the app it is also possible to book transportation tickets directly. The official Olympics website also provides a page with all the details on how to reach the individual venues.

How to get to and get around Anterselva and Cortina

During the period of the Games, access to the Anterselva Valley by car will be limited, except for certain authorized categories. You will be able to reach the area using other means:

By train – Train & Ride service
You will be able to reach the Valdaora-Anterselva station by train with enhanced and extended schedules in line with the competitions and the last return shuttles. From there, shuttle service B will bring you to Anterselva di Mezzo.

By car – Park & Ride service
You will be able to use one of the Park & Ride interchange parking areas available free of charge and without reservation.

  • Valdaora: from here you will reach Anterselva di Mezzo with shuttle B. This will be followed by a walking segment and a second shuttle, shuttle A – Biathlon Arena Shuttle.
  • Anterselva: from here you will continue on foot for about 5 minutes (0.19 miles) to the Anterselva Spectators Bus Terminal, located in Anterselva di Mezzo. From here, shuttle A – Biathlon Arena Shuttle will depart.

The train will be the ideal solution to reach Cortina, with enhanced and extended schedules in line with the competitions. From Milan or Verona, Cortina can be reached with a transfer in Padua or Venice.

By train – Train & Ride service
The reference station for Cortina is Ponte nelle Alpi-Polpet. From the station, a paid shuttle service will be active to the Cortina South Spectators Bus Terminal. You can purchase the integrated train + shuttle service ticket on the
Trenitalia website, selecting Cortina 2026 as the destination station.

  • From the Cortina South Spectators Bus Terminal, you will continue on foot for about 20 minutes (0.93 miles) through the city and the Fan Village areas for the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium and the Cortina Sliding Center.
  • For the Tofane slopes: from the Cortina South Spectators Bus Terminal the cable car will depart to Socrepes. You will continue with a second cable car and a walking segment of about 10 minutes (0.28 miles) to the venue.

By car – Park & Ride service
Roads and traffic will be subject to closures and restrictions and the venues will not be reachable by car, but you will be able to use one of the available Park & Ride interchange parking areas and continue with the dedicated shuttle service (Dobbiaco, San Vito Longarone and Son dei Prade). From each parking area, shuttles will depart toward the Cortina South Spectators Bus Terminal, the main hub from which all shuttles and cable cars depart to the various venues. All parking areas require mandatory reservation.
