Partake in an immersive experience of beauty and hospitality
Tucked into the Marche hillside is Azienda Agraria Guerrieri that represent five generations of farmers. Luca Guerrieri, joined by his son Alberto and daughter Maria Giulia, combine deep-rooted tradition with visionary sustainability. Their 500-acre farm dedicated to the cultivation of grapes, olives, and grains, is a living testament to Italy’s agricultural heritage and innovation for its future. Luca Guerrieri notes, “As authentic farmers, we carefully control our entire chain of production.”
Alberto adds, “I believe that the same attention consumers give to tasting notes and terroir in wine should extend to everything we eat.” During my visit, I was struck by how deeply passionate Alberto is—not just about his family’s farm, but about the future of food itself. He speaks with urgency and conviction about the need for transparency, traceability, and respect for those who work the land. “Every ingredient has a voice,” Luca says. “It’s time we start listening.”

That philosophy is clear in every bottle, bag, and jar they produce. Their wines—elegant expressions of native varietals like Bianchello and Montepulciano—are cultivated with minimal intervention and maximum respect for nature. Their award-winning olive oil, cold-pressed on site, bursts with the freshness of the region’s flora, delivering notes of artichoke, almond, and green tomato.

Also remarkable is their grain cultivation. The Guerrieri family are champions of ancient grains, notably Senatore Cappelli, a heritage durum wheat known for its exceptional flavor and digestibility. This prized grain forms the base of one of their artisanal pastas, which is bronze-cut and slow-dried for perfect texture and bite. They also grow farro, the nutty, high-protein grain once prized by Roman legions, now beloved by modern chefs and health-conscious eaters.
Free Farm Tour & Guided Tastings

Visitors to Guerrieri farms are treated not just to tastings of their stellar wines, extra virgin olive oils, and honey varieties but to an immersive experience. Walk through their vineyards and olive trees surrounded by roses and lavender flowers; learn about the farming seasons of grapes, olives and grains; visit their cellar and barrel room (with stunning views of the Marche countryside) and discover the nuances of the wine making process. Discover the details on their pasta made from their own wheat and about the honey harvested from hives just steps away. Yes, they even keep bees—producing a golden, floral honey that captures the wild essence of Le Marche’s countryside.

Olives, too, are jarred in brine, offering a taste of the estate’s bounty in every bite. Every product is grown, harvested, and crafted on-site with a commitment to quality, traceability, and the environment.

For travelers craving authentic, sustainable Italy, this is a destination not to miss. It is very family friendly and besides offering various tastings, the Guerrieri open their vineyards each fall to visitors so that they can taste the start of wine: the grapes! Visitors are treated to a taste comparison of each of the 27 different regional varietals of grapes they grow. Alberto smiles, saying, “children visiting can’t taste our wines, but they can taste how the wine begins.”
