On June 19th, the Ajiringanor Astroturf in Accra, Ghana came alive with the energy of youth, talent, and hope during the 4th edition of the Education Through Sports Tournament, an initiative organized by Bechem United FC and the Diaspora African Forum (DAF), in collaboration with Miracle Africa International Foundation (MAIF).
More than just a football tournament, the event highlighted how sport can be a powerful tool for education and opportunity. Eight outstanding young athletes were awarded scholarships to the Diaspora African Forum Youth Empowerment Training Center (DAFYETC), where they will receive education and skills training that can help launch their futures—on or off the field.
The initiative is particularly meaningful to me. As Editor of MilanoStyle.com, I often write about travel, fashion, and lifestyle, but my role as Press and Communications Officer for Miracle Africa International Foundation gives me the opportunity to contribute to something that truly changes lives. This foundation and its mission to empower African youth is a cause very dear to my heart.

A Fashion Connection, A Lasting Friendship
The project is also close to MilanoStyle.com through Nadia Murabet, the Founder and President of Miracle Africa International Foundation, and the driving force behind the Education Through Sports initiative. Nadia and I met many years ago through the fashion industry. Our paths crossed in Milan’s style circles, and what began as a professional connection blossomed into a friendship, collaboration as well as her being a trusted advisor for MilanoStyle.com. Her passion and tireless dedication to using sport as a means of social empowerment are inspiring and motivating.
Style Meets Substance
While MilanoStyle.com is best known for spotlighting fashion, luxury travel, and Italian culture, stories like these remind us that style isn’t only about what you wear—it’s about how you show up in the world. Supporting youth, fostering talent, and creating educational opportunities for the next generation is a form of elegance we should all aspire to.

About Miracle Africa International Foundation
Education Through Sports is a flagship project designed and developed by Miracle Africa International Foundation (MAIF), a Geneva-based organization founded and presided over by Nadia Murabet. MAIF’s mission is to enhance the living conditions of African communities by fostering stability, peace, and democracy through economic, cultural, artistic, and sports opportunities.
Recognizing youth as the driving force for Africa’s future, MAIF emphasizes the importance of addressing issues affecting children, particularly their rights as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The foundation believes in empowering youth through initiatives like Education Through Sports, which promotes accountability, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
Education Through Sports: Empowering Youth
Education Through Sports is a Miracle Africa International Foundation (MAIF) initiative which aims to encourage and engage children in athletic activities by supplementing traditional education with social and behavioral training through sports. The program focuses on creating playing fields and green areas in African villages, equipment, nutritional programs, educator training, and offering educational scholarships to young athletes.
Following the resolutions of the United Nations, with particular reference to the “Convention on the Rights of the Child,” MAIF emphasizes problems affecting children, the most vulnerable group of the African population but also the driving force for the continent’s future.
